Event description

Description

NBNC is part of a national network of scientists working to better understand the migration of the Northern Saw-whet Owl, a common yet elusive member of our Vermont forests. Join NBNC biologists as they capture, tag, and release these pint-sized owls. After the birds are released, NBNC naturalists and educators will discuss the highlights of recent research at NBNC and across the country, then share what’s been discovered about this mysterious little predator.

RSVP is required. Open to all ages. Demonstrations 7:30 – 9 pm.

Demonstration will be cancelled in the event of rain or very high winds. While odds are good of catching these wild owls, there are no guarantees. Participants are welcome to stay later in the event that no owls are captured by 9 pm.

This program is made possible by your support. Please consider making a $5-10 donation at the door to support Citizen Science work at North Branch Nature Center. Please email us if you need to cancel your reservation.
