Event description

Description

Anything that is in the public domain is fair game for admissions counselors to look at. Social Media has become a vital source for admissions professionals looking for background information on prospective students.

In a recent survey of admissions officers at 359 colleges and universities, revealed that 24% of respondents reported using Facebook or other social networking pages to research an applicant.

These days, with students being far more tech saavy than parents, it is difficult to keep up. This class will show you how to find your child online, what the most popular platforms are AND help you identify behaviors online that may put your child or student at risk.

This class is intended to help you feel comfortable with social media, understand the lingo and what is being looked at. We all know that the best way to avoid this is to keep our children OFF social media but we are not oblvious to the fact that social media is a way to communicate with others and an actual marketable skill. This class is not intended to terify you or even ruin your kids life, but rather to educate you so you now what the hell is going on.

Venue will be decided by attendance amount. (It Will be in CYPRESS/FAIRFIELD Area)

No video or audio recording permitted.
