Join me out on the farm for a tomato canning workshop at Green Gate Farms in East Austin!
Learn how to prepare tomatoes for canning (either whole, diced or in preparation for sauces) and see the process for putting them up using a waterbath canner pot. Attendees will learn the safety basics of waterbath canning and learn about the equipment involved in and further resources related to the process.
I'll also share a couple of ideas for other ways to preserve tomatoes (dehydrating and freezing) and recipes for creative non-traditional ways to use up canned tomatoes throughout the year including:

About the instructor:
Kate Payne is an author and freelance writer, and a frequent consultant for design, decorating, cooking, and crafting publications and sites. She lives in Austin and teaches writing workshops and classes on home food preservation and other food-based instruction both privately and at culinary centers locally and across the country.
