Event Details


Following a brief background introduction from Professor Rochelle Davis (CCAS), there will be a 30-minute screening of the BBC Panorama documentary, 'Saving Syria's Children'. The short film tells the story of two physicians from the UK and Syria as they travel around the country treating sick and wounded Syrians and assessing the state of hospitals. After the screening, there will be a Q & A session with four physicians who have also worked with victims of the crisis inside Syria and in neighboring Jordan.

  • Dr. Najwa Khuri-Bulos, Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Jordan University Hospital, Amman, Jordan
  • Dr. Annie Sparrow, Assistant Professor of Global Health and Deputy Director of the Human Rights Program, Icahn School of Medicine
  • Dr. Hisham Naji, Syrian anesthesiologist, Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS)
During the evening, there were also be discussion of ways in which the Georgetown community can show their support for Syrians.
