Event description

Description

Across the country, people who depend on winter for their livelihood are feeling the heat. On the sidelines of skiing and snowboarding, a struggle to reverse rising temperatures is unfolding. Ski towns and the snow sports industry are paving the way towards a clean energy future. Saving Snow documents the struggle against fading winters, and how unlikely heroes emerge.

It is the second film created by independent filmmaker Diogo Castro Freire as part of the Adaptation Now series. Diogo started the Adaptation Now documentary project in 2014 to raise awareness about climate change and garner support for organizations working to implement climate solutions. Saving Snow aims to educate audiences about the impacts of climate change on the winter economy, and show how different communities are working to address this challenge.
