Event description

The Nordic Consulates General and Danish Cleantech Hub are proud to host the conference Arctober Goes Nordic - Nordic and US Trends within Healthy Cities at Building Level.

Underlining that design and human health go hand-in-hand, a trans-Atlantic focus on making our cities healthier to live in by design is ramping up these years. As a Nordic contribution to the design and health relation, Nordic Sustainable Cities, a flagship project in the Nordic Prime Ministers’ new initiative “Nordic Solutions to Global Challenges”, offers strong best practices from a region historically known for integrating public health in the built environment.

This panel session, Archtober Goes Nordic – Nordic and US Trends within Healthy Cities at Building Level, will examine how Nordic Sustainable Cities can complement building certifications such as Fitwel, an initiative launched by Center for Active Design in early 2017, and other U.S. design and health related initiatives.

The conference is hosted in collaboration with the Norwegian Consulate General, Consulate General of Denmark, Consulate General of Finland, Consulate General of Sweden, Consulate General of Iceland and Danish Cleantech Hub.
