Save Congregation Shaarei Tzedek, second oldest Synagogue in Los Angeles
Overview
Our historic synagogue, founded in 1870 in the heart of Los Angeles, is facing serious financial challenges after years of declining membership. Without immediate support, the future of this landmark is uncertain, and an irreplaceable part of LA’s Jewish heritage could be lost.
This page is dedicated solely to raising funds to help preserve the building and ensure that it can continue to serve as a community space, cultural center, and historical landmark.
We are offering two donation tiers:
- Supporter
A meaningful contribution to help sustain the preservation effort. - Preservation Partner
A larger gift that directly supports long-term restoration and maintenance.
On February 1st, a short documentary will be aired live with everyone who donated, sharing the rich history of Congregation Shaarei Tzedek and why saving this building matters so deeply.
Between now and February 1st, our goal is to gather enough donations through these two tiers to secure the future of this cherished site.
Thank you for helping protect this important piece of Los Angeles history.
