Sauvie Island Wildlife Viewing
This is a guided automobile tour of the wildlife area with ODFW Technician Justin Elliott. The wildlife area presents tremendous viewing opportunities for many kinds of birds including sandhill cranes, bald eagles, and multiple species of waterfowl and shorebirds. You'll meet Justin at the parking lot near the foot of the Sauvie Island bridge and then ride with him in the Refuge van or follow him in your own vehicle to the best viewing locations that the Island has to offer!
A Sauvie Island Wildlife Area parking permit ($7/day, $22/annual) is required and may be purchased from vendors who sell ODFW licenses. The parking permit can also be purchased at "The Cracker Barrel Store" which is also located near the foot of the Sauvie Island bridge.
Don't forget to dress for the weather! Bring binoculars if you have them and a camera to take pictures.
