Event Details

“Saturday in the Garden” is a Speaker Series offered by UF/IFAS Extension, Lake County on the first Saturday of each month.  The Speaker Series will be held on October 5th  and will feature an hour and a half long class on "Turf Talk." The program will begin at 10:00 am.  Discover how to maintain a healthy St. Augustine, Zoysia, and Bahia lawn by following University of Florida recommendations.

The class will be held at the UF/IFAS Extension, Lake County office also known as the Agricultural Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares.  Following the class, please explore the Discovery Gardens, our 3.5 acre gardens located next to the Ag Center.  The gardens will be open from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.   You may enjoy the gardens without attending the class.  Picnics are encouraged. 

The fee for the class is $5.00 for adults and free for children under 16.  Entrance to Discovery Gardens is free.
