April 30th @ 1:00pm EST - Blackout Poetry Art: Does a blank page scare you when attempting to write a poem? Have no fear! Blackout poetry is the art of the found poem, a literary collage using words that are already on the page to create stunning poetry. Celebrate National Poetry Month with us and grab an old book or newspaper to get started. Materials needed: Newspaper, old book, black markers, black pens, colored markers, or colored pencils. Optional: acrylic/gouache paint, glitter, stickers.

Coming Up in May

May 5th - Simplified Mexican Nierika: Let's make a simplified Mexican Nierika, a form of spiritual art used by the Huichol people. Materials needed: Paper, crayons, and different colored pipe cleaners.

May 14th - Paper Rose Craft: Decorate your home with beautiful paper roses. Materials needed: Any type of colored 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper, scissors, glue. Substitutes: Any type of paper; if white, may use coloring utensils to color to your liking.

May 21st - Whimsical portrait drawing with @gusanito4. Please download the template HERE.

May 28th - Easy Cupcake Liner Poppy Craft: Join us to make an easy Memorial Day poppy to honor our fallen heroes. Materials needed: red cupcake liners (2 different sizes), big black button, green paper straw, glue gun or glue dots, and tape.

June 4th - Hibiscus Paper Flower Collage.

June 11th - Popsicle Stick Flag: Join us to make a popsicle stick flag to celebrate Flag Day this month. Materials needed: 1 large and 5 small craft sticks, school glue, red and white paint, blue card stock or construction paper, scissors.

June 18th: Out of School Mini Album - Keep your best school memories and summer plans organized in this easy-to-make Folio-Album, using one file folder and decorative paper!

June 25th - Kusudama paper flower.
