Event description

Description

Developing our Satire theme & following on from our October Satirical Notes gig/ exhibition and our recent talk with satire artist, Martin Rowson, we present:

Satirical Notes with Dan O'Farrell & the Difference Engine followed by Grant Sharkey.

Doors open 7.30.pm, music starts 8pm. Cash Bar & snacks available.

What to expect: Funny, foul mouthed, engaging and energised music from Southampton's finest musicans:

Dan O'Farrell & the Difference Engine followed by Grant Sharkey

Described as 'erudite, morose, witty and challenging' and 'arguably Southampton's finest song-writer', Dan O'Farrell writes and sings songs of satirical vehemence which are brought to ferocious life by The Difference Engine - guitar/double-bass & drums!

Dan O'Farrell reviews:

One of England’s best ‘undiscovered’ songwriters. Former C86 contender makes album which fans of Gedge, Stipe and Bragg would adore, if only they got the chance to hear it. Says Ged Babey.

He has been around since Circa-1986. John Peel loved his band Accrington Stanley

Followed by GRANT SHARKEY (the guy with double bass and hat )

Grant is a rare musican/ comedian who really wants us to change the world for the better before it's too late. Tonight he will be exploring even more ways to annoy and confuse ‘authority’.

He gave a sell out TEDx Talk about playing tricks on people, he performed with George Monbiot, has given you ‘I’m Sorry To Hear You’re A Racist’ , is on a mission to produce 2 albums a year and is currently on a 51 gig road trip asking us all to join the RATIONAL FRONT. Extremely foul mouthed but hilarious, Grant is doing his best to be positive in a time when there seems to be little to be positive about.

Due to bad language we advise no under 16 yr olds.

Due to rural location we aim to be quiet by 10.30pm
