Satellites for Sustainable Urban Living
We live in a rapidly changing world where more than half of the population already reside in cities and towns, and by 2030, almost 60% of the world's population will live in urban areas.
Sustainability is essential for businesses, local authorities and decisiton makers. Come to find out more, share experience and get involved. This workshop is free to attend, but registration is necessary.
Who will benefit?
It is expected that local authorities and planners, environmental groups, business and trade organisations, and companies involved in satellite applications will benefit from sharing their experience or finding out what help is available or waiting to be harnessed from the space programme.
Three sessions will cover the way in which we can: monitor activities and change, manage the city and plan for the future. Each session will have several short presentations followed by an oppotunity to discuss or share experiences.
- Monitoring: Urban infrastructure and green spaces; Air quality and Environmental footprint
- Managing citis: Information platforms, Transport networks, Air pollution
- Future-proof our cities: Improve the quality of life; Smarter, cleaner and safer cities
Hear from our speakers (Satellite Applications Catapult, Local and regional authorities, Ordnance Survey, British Geological Survey, Data and Monitoring companies..), join the discussions and network with potential customers and providers.
