Saratoga Lions Student Speakers Contest: The topic for this year is: "Freedom of the Press, What Does It Mean?"

About this Event

- It's open to all 9-12th graders residing in the region. Previous MD-4 final contestants are not eligible. The presentation must be given in English.

- Each speaker will speak for no less than 5 minutes and no more than 10 minutes, or penalty/scoring deductions will be applied. No warning signals shall be given (regarding the time).

- This is a multi-staged contest. At each stage, only 1 winner will be certified to the next succeeding contest. The winner of our club contest will be advanced to attend to the Zone contest in March 2019.

Registration space is limited. Deadline: Jan 25, 2019

AWARDS:

Club contest - $100 to winner

Zone contest -- $150 to winner

Region contest -- $250 to winner

District contest -- The 15 winners shall each receive a $4500 scholarship

Area contest -- The 4 winners will each receive a $6500 scholarship

Final Contest -- The winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship!
