The guided group ride, which will take place before work, will start and end in Payne Park. The 2.5-mile, slow-paced ride will be escorted by the Sarasota Police Department, and will end by 9:00 a.m.

WHO: This event is co-organized by the City of Sarasota, Sarasota County, Sarasota-Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization and Commute Connector, a program of the Florida Department of Transportation.

WHY: We are organizing this event to provide a free, fun opportunity for co-workers to try biking together during the Florida Department of Transportation's annual Mobility Week initiative from October 25 to November 1. Biking to work can be a great option for your commute, saving you money and improving your health.

FAQ's:

What are my transportation/parking for getting to and from Payne Park?

Biking, carpooling, or riding transit to the event are encouraged. Participants are welcome to drive their bike to the park if it's too far to ride from home.

SCAT bus route 3 serves Payne Park. Contact Commute Connector at 866-585-RIDE (7433) for assistance planning your bus trip to the event.

Parking is available at Payne Park along Adams Lane on a first come, first served basis. The Sarasota County Public Parking Garage located at 2150 Ringling Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34237, is also available across the Sarasota Police Department.

What do you need to bring to participate?

Once you complete the registration form at our Eventbrite page, your name will be added to the attendee List. We do ask that people participating in the bike ride visit the "REGISTRATION" table at the event to check-in.

During the event, an on-site transportation fair will allow residents and commuters to learn more about their commute options from the City of Sarasota, Sarasota County, Sarasota-Manatee MPO and Sarasota County Area Transit. Coffee, water and donuts will be provided at the start of the ride courtesy of Kimley-Horn. Helmets are strongly recommended.

Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event?

No, you do not have to print a ticket to participate. However, all riders will be required to sign a waiver in person prior to the ride.
