Clark Beckham was born in Nashville, Tennessee, but grew up in White House, Tennessee. is an American singer from White House, Tennessee who was the runner-Up on season 14 of American Idol. Before appeared in Idol, Clark graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee with a degree in history and was also working as a street musician. He had intended to audition for Idol when he was 18 but decided against it. Beckham auditioned for AmericanIdol singing "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" by James Brown. He was the first contestant at the first city, Nashville, Tennessee, to sing in front of the judges.
