Helping needy children of the North Okanagan since 1989

Who are we?

We are a registered charity and give income tax receipts...

We started in 1989, and our logo reflects our origin from a motorcycle toy run held to collect toys for needy children...

We are Vernon and north okanagan orientated. We are NOT affiliated with any other groups or organizations elsewhere in b.c .We ARE SANTA'S ANONYMOUS FOR THIS PROVINCE!!!

Our mission statement is simple. To help needy children up to 12 years of age in any way that we can... primarily, this is helping with birthday and Christmas gifts of either new or gently used toys and games. We solicit donations of cash or new or refurbish-able toys on a year round basis.

We conduct raffles, auctions, garage sales and other fundraisers on a regular basis, but our annual motorcycle toy-run is our single most visible publicity event and largest fundraiser. Several local businesses have adopted us and donate toys on a regular basis each autumn, and local high schools have also contributed generously in recent years.

In the last twenty years, we have supplied more than 100,000 toy, games, puzzles, and books to children of the north okanagan from families who would otherwise probably not received birthday or Christmas presents. That is a lot of needy kids!!!!!!

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP US.........

Toy Suggestions

Thank you for taking the time to select a special toy for our program. Here are a few things to get you started...

We serve children from infant to 12 years of age. Look for age recommendations on toys. Although some age restrictions are simply warnings about small parts (3 and up), it can be a good guide. If you are unsure check with a store associate for suggestions

“Play value” is very important and simply means the toy itself does not have to be expensive but is interactive and will provide the child with hours of blissful entertainment . Please keep in mind the items that we curently do not gift.

The Canadian Toy Testing Council is a great resource to check out before you go shopping.

We are often short of items for infants to 2 year olds and for 9 to 12 year olds.

●soft dolls
●rattle
●teething rings

Additions
We make every effort to have toys “immediately playable” on Christmas morning, therefore we always need:
●Barbie Clothes
●Colouring and Activity Books
●Crayons, Pencil Crayons
●Books (from cloth for infants to novels for 12 year olds and everything in between)
●Alkaline Batteries (AAA and AA )

*****If you purchase an item that requires accessories please include them. For example send batteries with battery operated toys, extra clothes with a barbie, CD with a CD player.
We want to ensure that every toy that is sent out is new, safe, age appropriate and is as special as we know each child is. In that spirit we do not gift the following in our Christmas Campaign:****

**Games that require a console (XBox, Wii etc)**
**Games that require a computer and/or an internet connection**
**Food due to possible food allergies (except Easy Bake Oven packets).**
**Used Items- We provide new toys only, helping children to maintain their dignity and self respect.**
**Makeup and bath products due to allergies and possible household rules.**
**Items for adults and teens.**
**Clothing.**
**Fragile items like glass, porcelain or china. These items may not survive the wrapping, stacking and delivering process.**
**Toys requiring adult supervision.**
**Realistic weapons (except Nerf dart guns, etc).**
**Poor quality plush animals. Does it say “This is NOT a Toy”, are there wires that poke out, loose eyeballs, or extremely hard heads? When you tug on the seams does stuffing come out?**
