Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC) Training

GoSaMo Transportation Management Organization is inviting you to participate in our Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC) Training! Let's built a healthier community by learning the ABC's of becoming an ETC to help employers meet their Emissions Reduction Plan (ERP) goals!

The training will contain 2 parts: an ETC overview and an optional workshop session. It is highly reccomended that you attend both.

Despite what Eventbrite says, this training is NOT Free. Please make your payment by check – payable to Steer Davies Gleave – and brought along on the day of the training or mailed to the GoSaMoTMO office at 1640 5th Street, Suite 227, Santa Monica, CA 90401.



Agenda:

ETC Overview*

10:30am-12noon - Morning

By the end of the morning you should be able to:

  • Understand your role as an ETC

  • Understand how the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 2202 and the City of Santa Monica Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Ordinance are related

  • Understand what’s required of your company to do

  • Understand how to conduct an Average Vehicle Ridership (AVR) survey


12noon-12:30pm – Lunch

Please bring a brown bag lunch or grab a lunch nearby. Drinks and cookies will be served.


12:30-2:30pm - Afternoon


By the end of the afternoon you should be able to:

  • Understand how to calculate AVR

  • Understand how to develop an Emission Reduction Plan (ERP)

  • Understand how to identify TDM Strategies that are right for you

*All ETC Overview attendees will receive their ETC certificate upon completion of this session.


Additional Workshop Session - Optional

3:00-5:00pm

Join us for this additional workshop session where we will workshop your ideas in small groups and brainstorm employee engagement strategies based on your specific worksite location to create an ERP that’s meaningful, effective and tailored to your needs. We ask that you bring your company’s previous ERP and information about what your company’s already doing for your commuter programs.

FAQs

1. Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No.

2. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

By Bus. The Main Library is directly served by the Big Blue Bus lines 1, R10, and 18. Big Blue Bus lines 2, 3, R3, and 9 also stop within a short walking distance.

By Rail. The Metro Expo line stops within a ten minute walk to the Main Library.

Bike Racks. Cyclists can secure their bikes at one of several bike racks installed along the north side of the building.

Parking: An underground parking structure can be accessed from 7th Street between Santa Monica Blvd. and Arizona Ave. The structure has 525 parking spaces on three levels and is open from 8am to 11pm daily. Real-time parking space availability for the structure can be viewed on the City's Transportation Division website. Click on "Santa Monica Public Library." The first thirty minutes are free. Rates are $1 per hour for the first two hours and thirty minutes. After that, the rate is $1 per thirty minutes. Weekdays the daily maximum is $10. Weekends the daily maximum is $5. Parking on level P1 is restricted to stays of three hours or less. Parking spaces for those displaying disabled placards or plates are on P1. Visitors parking for three hours or longer should park on levels P2 or P3. The Library does not provide validation for parking.

Street-level parking lot. A limited number of metered one-hour parking spaces are available. Entry to the lot is from 7th Street.
