IT’S BACK! Santa Barbara Studio Artists’ Open Studios Tour Returns, Labor Day Weekend, Fri., Sept. 2 - Mon., Sept. 5, 2022

Opening reception and tour preview exhibit at the Community Arts Workshop, 631 Garden Street, Santa Barbara.

The largest and most prestigious event of its kind on the Central California Coast, the tour is also one of the most-anticipated annual events in the regional art world. Open studios are marked by yellow flags, and a map of their locations. Tickets are available online here. Maps, tickets and brochures will be available at the Community Arts Workshop during the reception and throughout the weekend. Tour hours are 11 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Tickets are $25 (children under 12 free).

This year’s beneficiary is Alpha Resource Center, which began in 1953 when a group of mothers championed community-based lives for their children with Down syndrome. Today, Alpha helps families navigate school-provided services, Medi-Cal and Social Security benefits, and other essential resources. Its day program enables adults with an array of developmental disabilities to volunteer at local nonprofits, play music with other musicians, make and sell their art, acquire culinary and other employment skills, and enjoy life out in the community.
