Event description

Description

Designed for families, adults and young people alike, join us as we launch our series of complimentary classes on Classical African History: History of the Black Power Movement. In keeping with Jaku Konbit's values of community, culture and identity, we are proud to introduce Dr Clyde Ledbetter Jr. who has been teaching and publishing on subjects in African World Studies for over a decade.

Dr. Ledbetter's classes are intentionally geared to include children and youth of African and Caribbean heritage. Each eight-week course will be interactive using readings, lectures, discussions and audio/visual materials. Classes will be led in a way that allow you to look to the past and consider the connections between the historical experiences and intellectual thought of peoples of African descent. This will enhance the collective well-being of Africans from Ottawa all the way to Ouagadougou.
