All are welcome to attend the 2019 Sankey Lecture, hosted by the History Department at Brock University, in cooperation with the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario.

SUBJECT: "Democracy, Freedom, and the Beginnings of Black Freemasonry"

  • About the origins of "Prince Hall Freemasonry" in the early American Republic, together with some reflections on the problems and possibility of democracy in America.

LECTURER: Chernoh Sesay Jr, associate professor of religious studies at DePaul University, Chicago, IL
