Sandy One Year Later/Haiyan Typhoon Fundraiser
Event Information
Description
NYC was hit by the strongest storm it has seen just over a year ago and the Philipines is in the midst of recovering from the worst Typhoon it has ever seen. Please come out this Friday for an open bar fundraiser to support the recovery and relief efforts and your donation/ticket price will help grassroots organizations rebuild communities here and abroad.
Join Do Your Part, a 501 (c) 3, on this Friday November 22nd at a Double Wide Bar and Southern Grill for a three hour open bar (premium beers, wine, house liquor, and soda), a desert bar, a raffle, and amazing company. If you volunteered for Sandy relief or bring along some pantry/canned food items the entry is only $50.
ALL monies raised at this event will go directly to either long term recovery in NYC or relief efforts in the Phillippines. All donations we recieve will go directly to supporting the relief work in the Phillippines whether it be paying for the materials to build a new homeless shelter in Himolkan, providing support for Global DIRT rescure operations, or buying medications for traveling nurses/doctors, or to the long term recovery of families in Gerrritsen Beach and Rockaway.
The raffle will include items like a Zogsports free registration ($150), a foodie experience courtesy of Beecher's Homemade Cheese, two tickets to Hack the Met, a mini-kegarator from Heineken, and a date night in the East Village. All donations are tax deductible (and 35/25 dollars of the ticket price), so please bring your cash/checkbooks!
If you can't make it, please share with friends and if possible donate using the "There in Spirit" ticket.
