Learn to paint the colors of the sea at the shoreline where sand and surf meet and where the tide churns the sea into foam. We will study the greens and blues that structure the glassy colors at the tide line and mix lavender for shadows in the sea foam as the surf breaks to whites. Joan will demonstrate during the morning as we create multiple studies, and practice mixing these nuanced colors. In the afternoon, we will paint one larger picture incorporating the color mixing we practiced in the morning. Beginner to experienced painters welcome and bring the paint medium you prefer: watercolor, acrylics, or oils including mixable oils (water base oils). Joan includes insightful critiques throughout a full day painting Point Reyes’ beautiful sand, surf and sea foam. All levels welcome.
