Join ROC, Presente.org, Sanctuary Restaurants, COLORS-New York and allies as they announce and celebrate two important new initiatives: the launch of Sanctuary Restaurants project; and, legislation to eliminate the lower wage for tipped restaurant workers. ROC is hosting this launch of Sanctuary Restaurants on 2/13, its annual day of action to highlight the fact that the tipped minimum wage is still just $2.13 an hour at the federal level. Sanctuary Restaurants have a zero tolerance policy for hate or discrimination. The event details are as follows:

As the new home for COLORS-New York and the new homebase for the Sanctuary Restaurants movement, COLORS is expanding to not only train thousands of low wage workers in both advanced restaurant skills and civic engagement, but also host trainings and programs for restaurant employers, workers and consumers who want to be part of the Sanctuary Restaurants Movement. On 2/13, New York legislators will be introducing a bill for "One Fair Wage," eliminating exclusions for tipped and upstate workers from New York’s recent $15 minimum wage bill. In doing so, New York state legislators are joining legislators in several other states and cities who are also filing One Fair Wage ballot measures on this same day.
