Stand up Paddling in Fresno is here! If you are looking for a place to learn how to Stand up Paddle look no further. The San Joaquin River Stewardship Program in cooperation with the California Department of Boating and Waterways and the San Joaquin River Conservancy will be offering SUP programs on the San Joaquin River this year. Our certified United States Canoe Association instructors will have you paddling like a Pro in no time. You can take an instruction class, do a SUP full body, low impact core workout, explore the San Joaquin River on a trip, and participate in SUP games and races. You will discover why Stand up Paddling is the world’s fastest growing water sport!
While spring river flows are high we will be paddling at the PBC Pond. The calm water of the 15 acre Pond is an ideal place to learn water safety, basic strokes and prepare for your first river trip and future races. You will be using Jackson SUPerCharger river boards. Location: PBC Pond, San Joaquin River, Fresno
Directions: From Fresno: HWY 41 East. Take the Children’s Blvd. Exit. At the top of the ramp turn right and then immediately turn right again. Follow the road downhill to the first intersection, Ave. 9. You will see the entrance to Cobb Ranch on the left. Turn right on Ave. 9 and follow the road under HWY 41. Turn left on the first road past the underpass before you get to the River Park Golf Center. Follow the road along the river until it dead end at the gate. Someone will meet you at the gate to let you in. (The pond is about 10 minutes from River Park)

Rescheduling/Transfer/Cancellation Policy: You may reschedule your trip date up to 5 working days prior to your registered event.You may also transfer your ticket(s) to others. Cancellations made less than two weeks (14 days) prior to an event are not eligible for a refund. There is a $10.00 fee for all cancellations. Should the Program cancel an event, we will reschedule the event, issue a credit on your account or full refund of your fees. Reasons may include poor weather, river conditions or participant numbers. Events must meet the minimum enrollment. Failure to attend an event in which you are registered will result in forfeiture of all fees. No exceptions are made to these policies. It is a project of the East Merced Resource Conservation District.
