Stand up Paddling in Fresno is here! If you are looking for a place to learn how to Stand up Paddle look no further. The San Joaquin River Stewardship Program in cooperation with the California Department of Boating and Waterways and the San Joaquin River Conservancy will be offering SUP programs on the San Joaquin River this year. Our certified United States Canoe Association instructors will have you paddling like a Pro in no time. You can take an instruction class, do a SUP full body, low impact core workout, explore the San Joaquin River on a trip, and participate in SUP games and races. You will discover why Stand up Paddling is the world’s fastest growing water sport!

The calm water of Lost Lake Park is an ideal place to learn water safety, basic strokes and prepare for your first river trip and future races. You will be using Jackson SUPerCharger river boards. These boards are designed for stability and river fun. You will be amazed with the performance of this SUP!  Check out this You Tube Video:

Sessions:  Class sessions are one day in length.  You may register for multiple dates and learn how to paddle different boats.

Dates:   Sunday in June & July

Times:  9:00am to 2:00pm

Cost:  $60.00  Groups of 4 or more should contact us for special pricing!

Ages:  10 and up

Location:  Lost Lake Park, San Joaquin River, Fresno

Directions: From Fresno:   Take Highway 41 North toward Yosemite. Exit on Friant Road east toward Millerton Lake. The entrance to Lost Lake Park is clearly marked. It is located just before the town of Friant. You will turn left and enter the park.  Parking Fee: $5.00.

Rescheduling/Transfer/Cancellation Policy: You may reschedule your trip date up to 5 working days prior to your registered event.You may also transfer your ticket(s) to others. Cancellations made less than two weeks (14 days) prior to an event are not eligible for a refund. There is a $10.00 fee for all cancellations. Should the Program cancel an event, we will reschedule the event, issue a credit on your account or full refund of your fees. Reasons may include poor weather, river conditions or participant numbers. Events must meet the minimum enrollment. Failure to attend an event in which you are registered will result in forfeiture of all fees. No exceptions are made to these policies. Please contact us ASAP if you need to reschedule/transfer/cancel your event!

The EMRCD provides natural resource education and conservation programs and resources in Eastern Merced County.  We act as an independent local liaison between government agencies and local landowners and work closely in Merced County with the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
