Event Details

The 9th Annual San Francisco Ocean Film Festival is almost here! Join us for an advanced screening of two special films, "One Beach" and "Thirty Thousand".

We've teamed up with our friends at the San Francisco Chapter of Surfrider Foundation and Barefoot Wines and Bubbly to present "One Beach", a film featuring the life changing stories of five key individuals destined to make an impact on the health of our oceans and preventing the use of plastic. On hand for a post-screening Q&A session will be Judith and Richard Lang,  featured artists in the "One Beach"  film for their work in creating art out of plastic discovered at Kehoe Beach in Point Reyes National Seashore.

Be mesmerized by the award winning music and landscape of "Thirty Thousand" following the journey of Austrailian surfers and twin brothers Richard and Andrew James as they drive across Africa catching some of the longest waves imaginable while also capturing breathtaking African scenery. Winner of the 2011 Best Soundtrack at the New York Surf Film Festival, don't miss the Bay Area premiere of this amazing surfing film.

International Ocean Film Festival

Widely acknowledged as the largest and most attended ocean destination event of its kind, the International Ocean Film Festival is an exciting four-day film festival featuring more than 50 independent ocean-inspired films from around the globe. Through the powerful medium of film, IOFF screens the most current independent films that inform audiences about key issues affecting the ocean today and possible solutions to help protect it, while entertaining, educating, and engaging everyone to become ocean stewards.

The 15th Anniversay of the IOFF will take place on March 8 - 12, 2108 at Cowell Theater in Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. The festival is expected to draw more than 4,000 people, and provide free film programs to more than 1,200 Bay Area middle school and high school students as part of the 12th Annual Free Student Program, and feature submissions from around the world for the 7th Annual Student Film Competition.
