Event description
Join San Diego's chefs, scientists, fishermen and seafood entrepreneurs to learn new ways to cook, eat and think about local seafood.

About this Event

Catalina Offshore Products and NOAA Fisheries are partnering on an initiative to celebrate the full culinary potential of San Diego's seafood. Our collaborative team is on a mission to encourage people to eat a greater diversity of seafood species and to use more of each fish landed.

We will illustrate the value of both fishing and eating sustainably as we move towards zero waste. Seafood lovers can play an important role in culinary conservation, saving the ocean one bite at a time!

Enjoy an evening of culinary conservation with seafood tastings, talks, cooking demonstrations, a full “breakdown” of a Pacific opah by Tommy the Fishmonger, science displays and gyotaku, traditional Japanese fish printing.

Free to attend with your Eventbrite registration. Cash bar.

A collaboration funded by NOAA's Saltonstall-Kennedy Grant Program.

Featuring San Diego's leading chefs:

Davin Waite of Wrench & Rodent Seabasstropub

Rob Ruiz of The Land & Water Company

Drew Deckman of Deckman's en el Mogor

Paul Arias of The Fishery

Karen Barnett of Small Bar

Hector Casanova of Casanova Fish Tacos

Steven Keifer of Kitchens for Good

Christina Ng of Chinita's Pies

Anthony Pascale of Saiko Sushi

plus a full opah breakdown by Tommy the Fishmonger!
