Event description

Description

Kom Kongins Dag vieren bij The Inn voor een dag vol gemeenschap en traditioneel Nederlands eten en plezier.

On April 27, Dutch in the Netherlands and abroad celebrate the birthday of King Willem Alexander, a Dutch national holiday, with festivals full of music, food and merriment. This year, Dutch community groups in San Diego (Dutch San Diego & Dutch School of Southern California, La Jolla) and The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe invite locals & fellow expats alike to join them for a Dutch festival in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, where The Inn is hosting San Diego King’s Day 2019 on their picturesque, sprawling lawns from 1-7pm on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

For complete information or details on how to participate, please visit www.sandiegokingsday.com

Festivities will include Dutch themed vendors, traditional cuisine like Bitterballen & Rookworst created by The Inn's Executive Chef Chris House & team, a silent auction, live music, Heineken beer garden, Bols cocktails, libations from Effen Vodka and more.

For family-friendly fun, attendees can peruse vendor booths, visit Dutch artist Rembrandt brought to life by Write Out Loud and snap a picture at the Holland-themed photo booth.

Kiddos can play in the Southern California sun during San Diego King's Day. Entertainment will include a bounce house, garden crafts & horse-drawn hay rides by Smarts Farm and traditional Dutch games hosted by the Dutch School of Southern California, La Jolla. Children can even participate in a traditional Dutch "flea market." Kids sell crafts they've made themselves or gently used items from home. Negotiation is allowed, part of the fun and the kids keep any profit they raise. It's a fun and hands-on way for kids to learn about business and commerce.
