Denise Jackson joined AMN Healthcare (AMN: NYSE) in 2000, and is the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. AMN Healthcare is the nation’s largest healthcare workforce management solutions and staffing company with over $2B in annual revenue. For the past two years, AMN has been named as one of Forbes’ 100 fastest growing companies.
Ms. Jackson serves on the Board of Tractor Supply Company, the country’s largest rural lifestyle retailer and a Fortune 500 company. Ms. Jackson serves as the Chairperson of the Nominating and Governance Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee. Previously Ms. Jackson served as a director of PipelineRx, a telepharmacy technology and services company, and as Chairperson of the Compensation Committee. Ms. Jackson also serves as a Director for AMN Healthcare’s 25 subsidiaries.
Ms. Jackson is an integral member of the AMN Healthcare Executive Management team that shapes and executes the company’s strategy, including serving a primary role in the company’s acquisitions and development of the Enterprise Risk Management program that underlies its strategic plan. Ms. Jackson is the Executive Sponsor of AMN Healthcare’s Innovation Program, its Diversity and Inclusion Initiative and is a member of the company’s Information Security Committee and Privacy Committee.
Ms. Jackson leads the corporate governance, social responsibility, legal, compliance, equity compensation, risk management and government affairs functions for AMN Healthcare. Her expertise reflects the topics that are top of mind in the boardroom today: strategy, corporate governance, innovation, corporate social responsibility, mergers and acquisitions, enterprise risk management, information security and executive compensation.
Before joining AMN Healthcare, from 1995 to September 2000, Ms. Jackson worked for The Mills Corporation, a NYSE-traded REIT, serving as Vice President and Senior Counsel from 1998 to 2000.
In 2016, Ms. Jackson was recognized by the National Diversity Council as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the country and by the NYSE as a Distinguished General Counsel finalist. She has been named by the San Diego Business Journal as General Counsel of the Year and Top Corporate Counsel and the Association of Corporate Counsel as In-House Counsel of the Year. AMN Healthcare has received the NYSE Leadership Award for Best Governance, Compliance and Risk Program and for Best Proxy Statement Compensation Discussion and Analysis. Corporate Secretary has also recognized AMN Healthcare for Corporate Governance Team of the Year, Best Compliance and Ethics Program, Best Proxy Statement and for its Outstanding Shareholder Outreach Program.
Denise holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arizona, a Masters of Public Health from The George Washington University and a Bachelors of Science in Liberal Studies from the University of Arizona. Ms. Jackson is licensed as an attorney in California, the District of Columbia, Arizona and New York.
