Using 1970’s disco as a source of inspiration, Honey plays within a queer space open to excess, risk, freedom, and fantasy. Disco serves as the gateway drug, transitioning the dancers into modern movement fueled by memory. Honey pours slowly taking audiences from casual intimacy into the allure of narcissistic pleasure. For the dancers- Kate Kislingbury, Michelle Giordanelli, Michael O’Neill, and Christopher Knowlton- the viscous journey becomes one of gratifying exhaustion and vulnerability. With photographic projections by Bill Bernstein and music by ESG the room shifts in tone. SPPP hopes that you all can be a part of realizing the visions of our entire creative team with costume design by long time collaborator Vin Reed, enviroment by John Wilson and lighting by Josh Weckesser.
