Event description

Description

The 2017 summit Abuse prevention: Early recognition will feature keynote speaker Dr. Judy Neighbours, assistant director of Survivor Advocate Resource Center at OSU, psychologist and advocate, and a presentation from Dr. Carol Chervenak, family practice physician for the ABC House, serving Linn and Benton counties. A total of four breakout sessions with abuse identification and prevention trainings will be available. The choices include: darkness to light; a two-hour child sexual abuse identification course OR two of the following 50 minute sessions on: domestic violence (intimate partner violence), elder abuse (prevention and recognition), or child abuse (prevention and recognition). We will be honored with a State of the Counties address from local district attorneys from Linn and Benton counties and closing our day with an address from local Senator Sara Gelser.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Space is limited and will close with 300 registrants. For more information, contact Jeanne Seelye at jseelye@samhealth.org.
