Description

A Conversation about Downtown Development with Sam Holladay, principal partner at Seibert Architects. Led by Tony Souza, historic preservationist.

Samuel C. Holladay, AIA is a graduate of the University of Florida where he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1971. He has been living in Sarasota, Florida since then and was licensed to practice architecture in 1973.

Mr. Holladay began his career with Seibert Architects in 1972 and became its president in 1994 when Mr. Seibert retired. During this time period he was involved in a variety of projects including the design of houses, land planning, schools, resorts and multifamily projects.

Although Seibert Architects’ design experience varies, we are always interested in providing creative architectural solutions for new opportunities. Seibert Architects’ focus in the past decades has been on houses, public buildings and interiors. Seibert Architects has also had the opportunity to participate in additions and renovations of many of the houses that were designed in Sarasota from the 1940’s to the 1960’s by modernist architects such as Paul Rudolph, William Rupp, Edward J. Seibert and William Zimmerman.

Seibert Architects associates Michael L. Epstein, AIA and Pamela Holladay, ASID have contributed to many of these projects.

Mr. Holladay participates with the AIA Gulfcoast Chapter and the Florida Association of the AIA. He is a past member of the Florida State AIA Board of Directors. He is past president of the Board of Directors for the Gulf Coast Heritage Association (Historic Spanish Point) and the Sarasota Tiger Bay Club.
