Event description
The Salt and Pepper presents Eric Essix and Debbie Bond representing Alabama fore most contributions to Blues and Jazz

About this event

Over a period of 32 years and 27 full length album releases, Eric Essix has not only maintained a steady flow of new music that continues to push the boundaries of contemporary jazz throughout his career, he appears to have no intention of stopping. This fact is evident with the 9 compositions all written, arranged, and produced by Essix called "Songs From The Deep". This latest effort by Eric, revisits the artist's favorite theme, his Birmingham, Alabama southern roots.it is a project that reveals the soul of the man and his music as he continues to reconcile love for his homeland, its culture and its people, with its history.

Essix will be joined on the Salt and Pepper stage by Debbie Bond and Radiator , Alabama Blues artists known not only for Bond's solo work but advocacy promoting tradition of Alabama blues, rock, and soul. She toured extensively with Blues legends such as Willie King.

Together, Essix and Bond represent the cultural diversity of Blues and Jazz and the mission of The Salt and Pepper.

Join us at UNA's The Mane Room on .28th at 7PM. This event is made possible by grants from The Alabama State Council on the Arts and the NEA, a Federal Agency along with The Alabama Folklife Association, the sponsor of the video/streaming production.
