On Saturday, October 1, from 6:00 to 10:30 pm, the City of Tarpon Springs and MARC/Medical Accident Resource Center will present a free event—Salsa on the Sponge Docks. Join us to enjoy the entrancing rhythms of Salsa music and dance while dining at Tarpon’s premier restaurants under the stars!
From the heart of Tampa’s historic Ybor City, Orquesta Infinidad has been performing salsa, merengue, cumbia, Latin jazz, and an array of other Latin musical genres for more than two decades with their 12 peice band. The band will play from 7-10pm. DJ Mike will spin recent Latin hits at the west end of the Sponge Docks from 7-10:30. And to party the evening away, we will offer a free dance lesson by respected instructor Jairo Garcia from 6 to 7 pm.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There are none. This is a family-oriented event—all ages are welcome.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking is available in several private lots on Dodecanese Blvd. between Athens and Pinellas/Alt. 19. The average price is $5. There is also limited street parking in surrounding area.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
This event has a different format and presentation than music festivals—the format is more like a Greek village festival at which everyone enjoys music, food, and each other’s company in the central plaza. Seating for dinner will be available at four restaurants (Costa’s, Hellas/Plaza, Mama’s, Mykonos) outside on the Sponge Docks across from the band. Other visitors are welcome to stroll and dance, but non-restaurant seating is limited. We request that you do not bring chairs because the only available space is for dancing, walking, or dining.
Is there preferred seating?
Preferred seating can be reserved for $15.00. This area will provide an opportunity to network with sponsors, vendors, and other great business professionals from all over the Tampa Bay area. Seating is limited, so contact us soon for more details about the M.A.R.C. reserved seating area: 888 981-6272 or email@example.com.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
The answer is no. The event itself is free.
In order to enter the raffle, you should register on this page, print a ticket, and scan it at the Athens or Hope Street entrances or at the M.A.R.C. booth. If you do not print a ticket in advance, you may still register for the raffle at the M.A.R.C. booth.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Only the person whose name that is on the ticket will be entered to win the free raffle prize—and they must be there in order to pick up the prize.
What is the Prize?
A 55" Samsung Smart TV
