On Saturday, May 27th, from 6:00 to 10:30 pm, the City of Tarpon Springs we will present a free event—Salsa On The Sponge Docks. Join us to enjoy the entrancing rhythms of Salsa music and dance while dining at Tarpon’s premier restaurants under the stars!
From the heart of Tampa’s historic Ybor City, Orquesta Infinidad has been performing salsa, merengue, cumbia, Latin jazz, and an array of other Latin musical genres for more than two decades with their 12 peice band. The band will play from 7-10pm. DJ Mike will spin recent Latin hits at the west end of the Sponge Docks from 7-10:30. And to party the evening away, we will offer a free dance lesson by respected instructor Jairo Garcia from 6 to 7 pm.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There are none. This is a family-oriented event—all ages are welcome.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking is available in several private lots on Dodecanese Blvd. between Athens and Pinellas/Alt. 19. The average price is $5. There is also limited street parking in surrounding area.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Seating for dinner will be available at restaurants to be announced outside on the Sponge Docks across from the band. Other visitors are welcome to stroll and dance, but non-restaurant seating is limited. We request that you do not bring chairs because the only available space is for dancing, walking, or dining.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
