Salon@615 is pleased to welcome Janet Napolitano as discusses her new book, How Safe Are We? Homeland Security Since 9/11. She will be joined in conversation by John Dwyer, former broadcaster and current President and CEO of Jobs for Tennessee Graduates. Peppered with stories from her career with reflections on what it means to have a calling in public service, as well as the importance of changing expectations about whether women are “tough enough” to protect the public.

Janet Napolitano served as Secretary of Homeland Security from 2009-2013. Before that, she served as the Governor of Arizona, Attorney General of Arizona, and U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona.

On-Site Tickets:

This Salon@615 is a free, ticketed event. A very limited number of tickets will be available on-site on the day of the event, after which walk-up guests will be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strongly recommend arriving early for the on-site and walk-up ticket line. To ensure a guaranteed seat, ticket holders need to be seated by 6:05pm. Any seats that are unfilled at 6:05 will begin to be filled with walk-up guests. Once all auditorium seats have been filled, guests will be accommodated in alternative viewing locations.

Parking Information

The Main Library Parking Garage is directly under the library. Entrances to the garage are on Sixth and Seventh Avenues between Church and Commerce Streets in downtown. Handicap parking is located on the 4th level of the garage.
