Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Some companies are afraid of social media.

Some companies treat their social media marketing as an add-on or an afterthought.

“Get the intern to post on Instabook and Facegram,” is what they say.

Some companies gauge social media success by the number of “likes,” “friends” or “shares.” They think that social media is just a box that needs to be checked to stay minimally relevant in the 21st century.

Some companies just don't get it at all.

Some companies use social media platforms like a firehose to blast followers with fancy product photos, self-promotion and not-so-humblebrag snapshots of award dinners and pro-bono charity work.

If social media was a cocktail party, these companies would be standing in the corner with their arms folded, wearing a hat that reads: “Ask Me Why I’m Interesting.”

Some companies invest little to no money, time or thought into social media marketing. And some companies go their whole lives without using the words “social media marketing strategy” in a sentence.

Other companies know better.

Other companies understand that social media is a powerful, lead-and-revenue generating marketing engine fueled by a mix of quality content, consistency and two-way communication.

Other companies know that social media can be scary, but it doesn't have to be dreadful.

Join us for a FREE conversation on Friday, October 27th, when the Sales & Marketing Book Club meets to talk about "The 10 Most Terrifying Social Media Marketing Mistakes (and How to Avoid Them)"

We'll meet at NOON at Blue Moon Taphouse inside Waterside District for a discussion inspired by the latest sales and marketing ideas from books that have been featured on The Marketing Book Podcast.

Come to network. Come to learn. Or just come for lunch.

Included in the discussion will be concepts, insights and ideas from the following books:
