Sajade Rogier Griffin Fellowship
Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 10:00 AM (EDT)
March 1, 2015 The Sickle Cell Association of New Jersey established the Sajade Rogier Griffin Fellowship to financially support medical students with a demonstrated committment to treat adults with sickle cell disease.
Sajade R. Griffin was born on March 3, 1976, a strong and courageous warrior, who suffered from sickle cell disease, yet he did not allow the disease to take away his uplifting spirt. We sadly note his passing on November 28, 2014.
The Sickle Cell Association of New Jerseyis inspired by his mother Mrs. Julie Griffin, to honor his life with a lasting legacy that will make a difference in the lives of others who suffer from sickle cell disease. It is our desire that the Sajade R. Griffin Fellowship helps to close the gap of the limited number of adult medical providers who treat sickle cell disease. The Sickle Cell Association of New Jersey honors his passing by recommitting ourselves to the work of improving the quality of life and finding a cure for all in the world who suffer from sickle cell disease.
Currently we are accepting donations to build the fund. Funds collected are put into a restricted account until awards of $1000.00 or more can be generated from interest gained, or within three years of establishing the fund.
You may make your donations online through this site or mail your donations payable to "The Sickle Cell Association of New Jersey" or "SCANJ" and add Sajade R. Griffin Fellowship in the memo line. All donations are tax deductible.
