Description: Join us for a Hallowe’en and All Saints’ Day themed walk, uncovering the light and dark sides of Holyrood Park’s history of saints and sinners. Hear chilling tales of criminals, pestilence and murder, as well as the lives of the holy men and women of Holyrood throughout the centuries.
Age: This walk may not be suitable for children under 16 years of age.
Grade: Moderate. Route has some rougher paths and elevation. Duration 2.5 hours
Route: St. Anthony’s Chapel, Hunter’s Bog, Duddingston Low Road, Duddingston Village. Please note that this walk has a non-circular route and ends at Duddingston Village. See map below for location of finishing point.
Bring: Warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear with good grips. A snack and a drink.
Toilets: Toilets are available at the Holyrood Park Education Centre (EH8 8HG). No toilets on the walk itself.
Parking: Parking available at Broad Pavement Car Park
Disabled: Rough tracks, steep inclines, may not suitable for disabled. Although guided walks for disabled can be arranged.
Dogs: Dogs are not permitted except assistance dogs.
