Safety STAT: Active Shooter
An active shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and other populated area. Health care delivery systems are potential target areas for an active shooter. Active shooter incidents are often unpredictable and evolve quickly. In the midst of the chaos, anyone can play an integral role in mitigating the impacts of an active shooter incident. Using national standards from The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), this class will provide the participant the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for and respond to an active shooter incident.
