Safety in West Midtown
Thu, April 20, 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM EDT
Based on the WMBA working session on January 19th, our Members' desire to collaborate to improve safety in our area ranks high on the list of topics to address.
Come join the April General meeting of the West Midtown Business Alliance. This month, guest speakers will address safety issues in our area to include: (1) Crime statistics in our area and (2) The ability to link security cameras with the APD.
Members and non-Members are welcome to attend.
Thursday, April 20th from 6:30 - 8:00 PM
888 3rd St NW Atlanta, GA 30313
1. Officer Sokloski will come speak about typical crimes in our area and what to watch out for.
2. Major Shaw, who has taken over as Commander of Zone 2, will briefly speak about his new initiatives this year like the special forces unit he has started.
3. Danielle Manning and Marlon Trone from Atlanta Police Foundation will talk about Operation Shield. The core of this program is about getting license plate readers and cameras linked into APD's Video Integration Center (VIC). Some are public (like the ones the CID is funding) and some are private. They will explain how business owners can get their own private cameras synched into the VIC system so the Police can leverage them to catch criminals.
Free Street Parking is Available. Please be sure to enter around the backside of the building.
Parking is also available across from and in front of Tiny Bistro.
Food will be provided.
Be sure to bring your business cards to enter for a drawing to win a pair of tickets to any Actor's Express show.
