Event description

Description

Welcome – and thank you for your interest in this event. The Reach UR Life (RUL) program at the Native Americans for Community Action, Inc. (NACA) is offering a free series of suicide alertness and prevention trainings throughout 2019. One of these trainings is safeTALK, a half-day alertness session that prepares anyone 15 years old or older, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. Participants will learn how to apply the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen, and KeepSafe) to connect people with thoughts of suicide to life-saving intervention resources, such as caregivers trained in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).

Anyone 15-17 years old will need parental consent.

RSVP is required. Seating is limited to 20 participants.

As with all suicide prevention trainings, the RUL program requires at least 8 participants to host the training. If there are less than 8 participants, then NACA reserves the right to cancel the training.

If you are unable to attend the training, please cancel your RSVP through Eventbrite.
