Event description
Safest Drug's Medication Side Effects Screening Project

About this Event

SafestDrug.org will be launching the Medication Side Effects Screening Project in Tampa Bay on April 16th at 2:00 pm at the Firehouse Cultural Center. This non-profit strives to prevent and alleviate medication-related illness, disability, and death in the United States. One in three hospital admissions each year across the country is due to adverse drug events (injuries due to medication) and more than 1 million people visit the ER because of them.

Safest Drug provides screenings to persons 55 and older who may be experiencing medication side effects. Safest Drug will even file a MedWatch report with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (for the person or anonymously), so pharmaceutical companies can be held accountable. The South Shore Coalition for Mental Health and Aging, the Men’s Club of Sun City Center, Seniors in Service, and South Bay Hospital have teamed up with Safest Drug to launch these screenings in Tampa Bay.

Please join us on April 16th at 2pm at the Firehouse Cultural Center. Safest Drug’s Marina Entin, a licensed Clinical Pharmacist with over 20 years of clinical and regulatory experience, will announce the program details and answer questions. Prospective screening participants are encouraged to attend!

Reservations are required due to limited seating. Masks and social distancing are required, and temperature checks will occur at the door. The event will also be live streamed for those who would prefer to attend virtually. Link included in ticket confirmation.
