About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Safer Foundations is an innovative organisation aiming to improve safeguarding in the refugee and asylum sector. Our ethos is to make safeguarding accessible for all; with a passion for sharing best practice through a variety of free and paid-for sessions. Pricing is tiered to ensure affordability.

This training session aims to cover the 'need to know' parts of safeguarding that are key in frontline work when supporting refugees and people seeking asylum. The training is broken down into two parts:

-A pre- training video covering the 'need to know' basics of legislation, approaching risk and increasing confidence in understanding and escalating safeguarding situations within the context of the sector. This video will be sent prior to the session to allow attendees the opportunity to watch and digest before the online session.

-The 3 hour interactive training session which will build on the pre-training video and allow attendees to put their learning into practice with sector-specific case scenarios and approaches that build confidence in using safeguarding as a tool of advocacy.
