Event description

Description

QSAPP (Queer Students of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation), part of the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Columbia University, is publishing a pamphlet titled Safe Space: Housing Queer Youth Experiencing Homelessness in New York City about the problem of homelessness in the LGBTQ youth population in New York City and its intersection with design.

In particular, the publication examines the specific housing needs for LGBTQ youth, how existing spaces are used and funded, and suggestions of best practices for potential new spaces for this population. The document is meant to raise awareness of the situation and highlight ways in which the architecture, planning, real estate, and broader design communities can engage with these issues.
