* This training is an intermediate course and is targeted to Physicians, Nurses, Psychologists, LMFT’s, LPCC’s, LEP’s, LCSW’s, and Substance Use Disorder counselors. There is no cost to attend this training.
1. Review proposed and current opioid related legislation in California and its impact on Los Angeles County.
2. Differentiate three (3) ways in which various County and community partnerships are working collaboratively to reduce, with the goal of eliminating, opioid associated morbidity and mortality
3. Identify two (2) diverse approaches to expanding access to treatment for opioid use disorders in the Los Angeles County.
4. Discuss ways to integrate opioid and overdose prevention initiatives into the current system of healthcare in Los Angeles County.
5. Identify services and pathways to referral for individuals with public insurance and living in homelessness. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is accredited by the California Medical Association (CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 3.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This course meets the qualifications for three and one half (3.5) hours of continuing education credit/contact hours (CEs/CEHs). Los Angeles County Department of Public Health-Substance Abuse Prevention and Control Division maintains responsibility for this program and its content. LAC-DPH Substance Abuse Prevention and Control Division is an approved provider of continuing education for CAODCs, SUDRCs, SUDCCs (CADTP, #181) and for RADTs I/II, CADCs-CASs, CADCs I/II, CADCs-CSs and LAADCs (CCAPP, #9-19-316-0721), and for CATCs I/II/III/IV/V/N/i/R (CAADE CEU Provider #: CP40 989 AC 07200).
