Description

The Minnesota Department of Health is pleased to announce that registration is open for the Safe Harbor Protocol Development Conference, June 29, 2017, in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Cohosted with the Sexual Violence Justice Institute @ The Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault, the Safe Harbor Protocol Development Conference is designed to be a highly interactive learning environment with a mix of plenary presentations, work sessions, cohort discussions, and developing plans of action. Team members who attend will gain technical knowledge about the protocol development process, and can expect to gain strategies, tools, and approaches for improving the local systems response to sex trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Space is limited to 100 participants, so register early!

About the Safe Harbor Protocol Development Conference

The Minnesota Department of Health and the Sexual Violence Justice Institute at the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault are excited to host the Safe Harbor Protocol Development Conference, a one-day, applied skills-based conference aimed at equipping multidisciplinary partners and systems professionals with resources for building the local systems response to sex trafficking and sexual exploitation.

The conference is targeted specifically to:

•Existing multidisciplinary teams looking to improve their response to sex trafficking and sexual exploitation, and

•Multidisciplinary professionals looking to form a Safe Harbor protocol team in their local community.

When and Where?

The conference will take place from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest located at 7025 Northland Dr. N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428

What is the cost of attending?
The registration fee is $60, which includes the cost of attending the conference, as well as meals, snacks, and continuing education credits.

Who should attend?
Multidisciplinary professionals who are a part of the local systems response to sex trafficking and sexual exploitation are invited to apply:

• Community-based advocacy
• Law enforcement
• Probation
• Prosecution (including juvenile prosecution)
• Judges
• Child protection/child welfare
• Frontline medical providers
• Chemical/Mental Health
• School administrators
• Civil Legal Services/Public Defenders


We welcome broad participation from across the state, and coordination with multidisciplinary partners in your county/region is strongly encouraged. We recommend sending one representative per agency/organization, with priority registration given to multidisciplinary professionals responsible for developing and implementing their agency’s internal policies and procedures.

Because of priority registration limitations, some registrants may be waitlisted. A full refund will be issued for those who register but do not make it off the waitlist.
