About this Event

SAFe® for Government - Certified SAFe® 4 Government Practitioner (SGP)

Excella Training’s SAFe for Government course is a two-day, interactive learning experience that provides an overview of how to develop a Lean-Agile Mindset and apply the principles and practices of the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) to execute and release value through Agile Release Trains. This class focuses on how to coordinate and lead a Lean-Agile transformation of a program inside a government agency.

What You’ll Learn

This class helps students understand how to transition government programs from traditional software and system development models to Lean-Agile and DevOps mindset, principles, and practices using SAFe. The class includes information about organizing government programs into one or more Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and executing in Program Increments (PIs), identifying and internalizing the mindset and leader behaviors essential to successful Lean-Agile transformation, following success patterns for SAFe implementations adapted to the government context, and building a preliminary outline of next steps to begin and/or accelerate the SAFe implementation in your program or agency.

Certification

Students who complete the class will be eligible to take the SAFe® 4 Government Practitioner exam and become a SAFe® 4 Government Practitioner (SGP). Additionally, this course also allows students to claim 15 Project Management Institute (PMI)® Professional Development Units (PDUs)* as well as 16 Scrum Alliance Scrum Education Units (SEUs).

Attune DC is conveniently located two blocks north of the Vermont Avenue exit of the McPherson Square Metro station on the Orange/Blue/Silver lines.

About Your Trainer

Jill Stott, an Agile trainer and coach at Excella Training, has decades of experience working in different IT roles and has led many organizations through successful Agile transformations. Jill ensures her classes are highly informative, engaging, and fun(!). She has trained thousands of people of diverse roles and organizational levels (virtually and in-person) on a variety of Agile topics and specializes in coaching the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Over 95% of her participants passed the SAFe exam. She has both a detailed knowledge of SAFe and practical experience applying it and has personally led many diverse organizations through the SAFe Implementation Roadmap from start to finish.

Cancellation Policy

Students submitting cancellation requests 10 business days or more prior to the start of the course are entitled to a full refund. Students submitting cancellation requests less than 10 business days prior to the start of the course will be offered a credit toward a future Excella Training course of equivalent value, or a refund less a processing fee of $100. Should the organizer cancel the course for any reason, each registered student will be issued a full refund.
