This course will be held online through Zoom.

In this course you’ll gain a deeper understanding Lean Portfolio Management in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) enterprise, taught by a SAFe Silver Partner and an instructor with real world experience as a Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Scrum Team Member within multiple Agile and SAFe implementations at HP and Verimatrix.

In this course, attendees will gain the practical tools and techniques necessary to implement the Lean Portfolio Management functions of Strategy and Investment Funding, Agile Portfolio Operations and Lean Governance.

Participants in the course will have the opportunity to capture the current and the future state of their portfolio with the Portfolio Canvas tool and identify important business initiatives for achieving the future state. Participants will be able to establish portfolio flow with the Portfolio Kanban and prioritize initiatives for maximum economic benefit. The course also provides insights on how to establish Value Stream Budgets and Lean Budget Guardrails and measure the Lean portfolio performance.

Instructor:

Ron Cohen is currently Compliance Program Manager at Verimatrix, driving the Agile evolution of the Quality Management System (QMS). Previously, he was an Agile Change Agent for two Agile Release Trains serving in the roles of Release Train Engineer, Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Senior QA Test Engineer. Earlier at HP he contributed as a Program Manager, Development & QA Manager, Business Analyst, Senior Software & QA Designer, Scrum Master, and Technical Writer.

Ron has 35+ years in the software field. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Science. Ron has trained hundreds of students in SAFe, Agile, and Scrum.org-based courses. He will share his real-world experiences with Scaled Agile Framework implementation and compare to non-Scaled Agile implementation.
