Sacred Sorrow: The Gift of Shared Grief
Fri, Jul 7, 2017, 6:00 PM – Sat, Jul 8, 2017, 8:00 PM PDT
Sacred Sorrow: The Gift of Shared Grief.
In our fast paced world we seem to have very little facility with facing grief and loss as a natural part of life. In this time together we will provide each other with the safe circle of a temporary 'village.' Here we can allow our hearts to open and reach for the deep grace and joy that lays beneath our undigested grief and loss.
Whether your grief is extremely personal or on a global scale - your heart and tears are welcome here.
Is there a minimum age requirement to participate in this event?
We have experienced remarkable rituals in which even young teens participated. Parents will have to decide if their child has the capacity and desire to join in this type of heartful and healing activity. What is most important is a willingness to be present with your own grief and present with and for the others as well.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is parking along the street, uphill from the center entrance.
Carpooling is encouraged.
What can I bring into the event?
We will have a large altar space available for each person to bring items that are cherished or evocative. This might include: Photos, memorabilia... We also invite each of us to bring a vase of flowers to the event. While this is not mandatory, having an honoring space full of flowers opens the heart.
Please bring a drink container that can close and seal completely. Only drinks in this type of container can be in the main meeting space.
We will provide only tea and light snacks on Friday 6p to 9p.
We will be providing lunch and a light supper on Saturday 9a to 8p.
Please inform us of any dietary restrictions you have as soon as possible after registering.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
We ask that each person who registers, contact us directly to confirm the fit of this ritual for each participant.
